A Learning Style is a method of learning or understanding new information, the way a person takes in, understand, expresses and remembers information.
There are 4 predominant learning styles:
- Visual (See it)
- Auditory (Hear it)
- Read/Write (Read and write it)
- Kinaesthetic (Do it)
Learning styles also take into account various methods of understanding and retaining information
For example, when learning how to build a clock, some students understand the process by following verbal instructions, while others have to physically manipulate the clock.
Learning is more efficient or more effective if students are taught utilizing their preferred learning styles, or approaches that have been specified as their learning style.
When we learn how to communicate with people in a language they can relate to, in accordance with their preferred learning style, people will believe we are on the same page as them.
